Too Much For One Title!

May 07, 2019
By Dr. Troy P. Roddy
Greetings Titan family!

No, it isn’t Friday. This week’s message is coming out early because I will be away from the office later this week and wanted to make sure you were up to date on things happening around HTES.

First, thank you to all the families who joined us this past Sunday at Main Event. From all reports, a great time was had by all. I also want to send a special thank you to the Titan Parent Association for all the help, especially Tiffany Cranford and Stephanie Causey.

Speaking of Sunday’s event, there are two items with spaces to fill. The first is called Flicks and Floats. This is a pool party for children followed by an outdoor movie experience! This event is hosted by the Johnston Family (Mason’s parents—2nd grade) on Sunday, June 9th at 6:30-10 PM (possible rain date: 6/22). The movie is How to Train Your Dragon 3 (Animated, PG). The evening will also include dinner, tons of movie snacks, and drinks. Please bring your own towel, swim suit, life jacket/pool floaties if needed, and a change of clothes. Pool is 5 ft at the deepest part. Lifeguard will be on duty.

To sign up your child for a spot in Flicks and Floats, please send me an email (troddy@hteshouston.org) The cost for the event is $25 (all proceeds go directly to the school).

The second sign up event is for moms! It is called, Margaritas for Moms. Here are the details.

Join members of the HTES staff for a very special event and spend an evening enjoying good company, margaritas and tapas.  We will have door prizes, memorable activities, light refreshments, and the world-famous “Ricardo’s Rockin’ Margaritas.” This event is hosted by Laura Yarbrough, Jamie Chambers, Elsa Rodriguez, Hannah Cheek, and Danielle Parks.
  • When? May 25, 2019, from 7pm - ???
  • Who? Any woman with a connection to HTES
  • Why? Because margaritas are cheaper than therapy.
  • Where?  A secret Summerwood location that will be revealed to those who sign up!
  • Cost? $100 per person.  There is limited space left, so sign up now!
To sign up for Margaritas for Moms, please email me at troddy@hteshouston.org.

Here are a few other items of importance for this week.

Friday, May 10, is Muffins with Mom from 7:30 am to 8:00 am in the gym. Moms (or grandmothers, aunts, “cousin Betty”, ...) please bring your child in for a nice way to start the day. If you can help volunteer (yes, I'm talking to you dads!), please contact the Titan Parent Association at TPA@hteshouston.org.

Tonight is our Celebration of the Arts Night from 6-8 PM in the gym. We hope you are able to swing by and check out our students’ hard work. For those who are unable to come, or who can’t get enough, art will be displayed through Thursday in the commons space in the gym.

There will be a few minor adjustments to the uniform for next year, and we are working on sending out a detailed message about those changes. Mostly, these will impact Chapel uniforms. If possible, please do not order new uniforms for next year until we confirm our changes with the vendor. Once confirmed, we will send a notice to you. Current uniform items that are in good repair and fit will be allowed next year, so do not worry about having to purchase all brand-new items. Stay tuned for more coming soon.

Summer at HTES camp information is available on our website, and we are taking registration now. For more, please contact us at enrichments@hteshouston.org.

Finally, we are proud to announce that we have been chosen to be the Humble/Atascocita location for Dynamo Dash Youth soccer. In the coming weeks, preparations will begin to prepare for the fall season. This is a wonderful partnership, and we are excited to begin this relationship with Dynamo Dash. For more information about their program, including registration and tryout schedules, please visit their website.
