Titans Around Town (and more)!

April 30, 2021
By Dr. Troy P. Roddy
Greetings Titan family!

I hope this message finds you safe and dry as I watch the rain pour down at Holy Trinity.

Earlier this week, I sent a message to our current 3K - 5th grade families with an admissions call to action. If you did not read that message, please do. HTES has put together an admissions and marketing task force to help boost community awareness of how great our school is and to assist with meeting our admissions goal for next year. However, this team needs your help, and that help is outlined in the message sent earlier this week. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Related to spreading the word about Holy Trinity, we just launched “Titans Around Town” as a way to help gain more community visibility. Titans Around Town events are public events in the Lake Houston area at which Holy Trinity is scheduled to be a participant or a sponsor. Look for Titans Around Town events on our calendar and promoted here on our Facebook page.

On Tuesday, May 4th, we will have some fun and celebrate “Star Wars Day” (May the 4th Be With You). We did this pre-COVID, and it was a ton of fun! On May 4th, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear Star Wars themed items. This includes: t-shirts, shorts, socks, hats, or costumes. Costumes need to adhere to the same standards as Halloween - no weapons, no masks that cover the head or face and obscure vision. If your child has a favorite Star Wars book or toy to show in class, he or she is free to bring it to school. However, keep in mind that if it is something valuable or breaks easily, it may be best to keep it at home.

Finally, I have an update on our search for a new Kindergarten teacher. Earlier this month, I announced the hiring of Mrs. Chelsea Martinez as our new Pre-Kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Martinez was introduced to us by Mrs. Crowe. During her interview, Mrs. Martinez impressed us with her sample lesson to PK and Kindergarten. After announcing Mrs. Crowe’s departure, Mrs. Martinez asked about moving into the Kindergarten role. After considering that request, including an enthusiastic endorsement by Mrs. Crowe, we are happy to announce that Mrs. Martinez will be teaching our Kindergarten class next year. Our search for PK will continue as we currently are considering a number of very good candidates for that role.

It’s a great time to be a Titan,
