Renovation Reminder and Staff Update

April 16, 2021
By Dr. Troy P. Roddy
Greetings Titan family!
The 2020-2021 school year is coming to a close soon. With preparations for the summer renovation put in motion, I want to remind you that we will be deleting the “classic” logo used uniform inventory. We will still collect and resell the updated logo items, but those with the older version will not be coming back from storage in the fall. Therefore, if you want to explore the used uniform inventory before things get packed up, please let me know. We will still allow the older logo items to be worn, but we will not be reselling them in used uniform.
A similar message relates to furniture items. We are replacing many chairs, desks, tables, etc. If you are interested in seeing what we have for a potential new home, let me know that, too.
I also want to update you on some staff changes coming for next year.
We have 2 teachers who will not be returning next year. I hope you will join me in thanking these teachers for their service.
Mrs. Hannah Cheek joined us 3 years ago and has done a fantastic job teaching her classes and managing our Titan Online Academy. Hannah will be leaving us to pursue different education opportunities and has a potential move away from Houston under consideration.
Mr. Dewayne Bowden also joined us 3 years ago. Since then, Dewayne has been a great addition to our team as our PE teacher. He also has coached and coordinated enrichment opportunities in his time with us. Dewayne will be leaving to pursue his dream of running and coaching his basketball club and other entrepreneurial interests he has begun.
We also have new teachers to welcome to our community.
Ms. Ashley Rynard will be joining us to teach 4th grade. She has experience teaching both early childhood and elementary school. While a student at Texas Lutheran University, Ashley was a Dean’s and President’s List Honoree. She is also an accomplished track and field runner having earned All American status, was a 3-time national qualifier, and a 2-time All American-Academia winner. We are very excited to welcome Ashley to the team.
Mrs. Chelsea Martinez joins us to teach Early Childhood (3K/4K). Chelsea is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Houston where she was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and the Rockwell Theatre Scholarship. Most recently, Chelsea has been teaching early childhood classes at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Humble. She also has experience teaching older students and working summer camps. Chelsea is a great addition to our community.
In addition to these updates, we are still doing both local and national searches for an early childhood, 5th grade, and PE teacher to join us next year. I will keep you updated as we have more to share.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
It’s a great time to be a Titan,
