End of 2020-2021
May 28, 2021
Greetings Titan family!
Earlier this week, we closed out the 2020-2021 school year with our end of the year ceremonies. I cannot tell you how happy I was to see family and friends in person at these events. Our students and staff were thrilled, too. The looks on the faces of those in attendance spoke volumes about the love and support we all have for HTES. At its core, HTES is a “people place.” Our identity and spirit grow out of our desire to build relationships with each family and student. This transforms the learning experience at HTES from solely an academic exercise into a whole-child experience including social and emotional components as a core function, not an ancillary piece.
This is possible because of your support and generosity. On behalf of all the staff, thank you for your partnership this year. We are honored to teach your children, and look forward to seeing you again soon.
The desire to be the best place for children to learn in the Lake Houston area is what has driven our work to renovate the campus. Every aspect of the planning had the child at the center of the decision making. When we return in August, I am sure you will be pleased with this work. Our goal is to provide periodic updates on how things are going. Once completed, we look forward to welcoming you back and showing you around. In the meantime, if you need to contact us, email is best as we will be working from home in June and July. However, if you call the school, your message will get to us.
Report cards for the 4th quarter are now available by logging into ParentsWeb via RenWeb. If you cannot access the report or need help, please let me know.
Finally, your child can also continue to use their Exact Path program through Edmentum. This was started near the end of the school year. Your teacher can help with any login information or you can reach out to me for help. About an hour a week is probably sufficient for Exact Path, but your child can use it as much as he or she likes. In addition, I strongly encourage all families to encourage your child to read all summer. Reading is essential and should not stop when school is no in session. Reading with and to your child is also a great way to build a habit of reading. If you need suggestions for titles, you can contact your teacher or visit your local library where a librarian will be more than happy to help.
Have a safe and happy summer.
It’s a great time to be a Titan,
