4TH GRADE
The 4th grade year marks the beginning of a 2-year student experience guiding students to becoming more independent and responsible learners. Inherent in this year is a more purposeful emphasis on self management and emotional regulation; two skills that will be very useful throughout life. Leadership development is also more purposeful in 4th grade as students take active roles in Chapel, lead partnerships with younger students, and develop their own campus leadership project.

Among the academic goals of 4th grade are:
  • Transitioning to novels and dissecting the elements of the stories
  • Advanced arithmetic and deeper geometric concepts
  • Texas history
  • STEM based science concepts
Highlights of the 4th grade year include:
  • Visit to the Bullock Museum
  • Overnight grade level trip to Camp Allen
  • “Build a better house” design challenge project
